Datalab – Trainee Update 2024
Three years ago, we introduced the Pon Data Science traineeship. During this two-year program, data science trainees work 20 hours per week, completing three projects of eight months at three different operating companies. The program focuses on developing a business minded data science capability, with the ideal combination of technical skills and business knowledge. This September, two new trainees, Bodine Stubbé and Felix Scheepens, will start as Data Science trainees.
Bodine Stubbé will soon be graduating with a BSc in Business Analytics and will start the MSc in Business Analytics this September. She recently completed an exchange semester at Singapore Management University, focusing on Machine Learning and Data Analytics. During this time, she worked on projects like detecting hate speech on social media and developing a Convolutional Neural Network for emotion recognition. This experience has enriched her academic and cultural perspective, and she is looking forward to starting the Pon Data Science Traineeship.
Felix Scheepens is a 22-year-old student who holds a degree in Econometrics and Operations Research from Erasmus University Rotterdam. After completing his studies, he took a gap year to further develop his skills, attending a Data Science bootcamp and interning at Squadra Machine Learning Company. Currently, Felix is pursuing a master’s in Econometrics & Management Science and will follow it with a master’s in Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics at TU Delft. He is eager to enhance his expertise as a Data Science Trainee.
