PPNL – CSC Watchdog
PPNL offers service with their gas turbines. The CSC team is available 24/7 and responds to alarms generated by the machines. In response, a team member visits the customer’s site and fixes the issue at hand.
The goal of this project was to gain a better insight into the alarms produced by the different installations. Additionally, the dashboard helps to provide insight into the working hours of all machines over time. Before the project started, the CSC team had to spend approximately 2 hours per week to manipulate the raw data in order to gain a better understanding. This project has automated that flow, which saves a significant amount of time and reduces the possibility of human mistakes.
The deliverable is a PowerBI dashboard that automatically reads data from a shared folder within the Microsoft suite. The dashboard contains three pages: a top-10 of the alarms of last week, an overview of the alarms for the last 5 weeks and insights regarding the working hours and starts last week. The CSC team only needs to upload the raw machine data into this folder. Relevant next steps would be to add more visualizations and perform deeper analysis on the alarm data.
